i find that we wade in our silences for far too long a moment where everything blurs like pauses between train tracks with trains still coming and the stations passing by each year i feel you reeling all this time like we never left like positions never shifted like the tables never turned like your chair still waits beside mine i echo in this vibrating to a song i think i always knew like line dancing beneath old lights like movement remembering itself like energy twisting my arm with no one standing there yet somehow i still follow they say if two people continually meet the train still exists the tracks still remember where they were meant to cross but when two people stop running into open arms when the tracks drift apart one rail at a time when we stop finding each other in darkness at stations we thought would always wait we mistake distance for an ending our virtue lived there and now it echoes somewhere else we don’t speak this way anymore so i speak to the wind in sin and in bliss with tongues that twist like riverbeds carrying broken glass cutting softly through open hands like misery we learned to hold instead of letting go i find you in a worn leather seat by the window of a room i stayed in far too long i hear your whispers like breath against cold glass like a melody returning before i remember where i heard it like a song i somehow finished without ever realizing i was the one still singing
